Low Class by PsychoticChoco

The three brothers do what they usually do on their spare time. Ace and Luffy are both sitting on the couch playing video games, while Sabo is cleaning up after them. Instrumental music is playing and sets the peaceful mood throughout the house. Sabo's phone rings, saying that there is something to be done at the college he and Ace are currently studying at.

"Ace! Get your butt off the couch and let's go. Mr. Edward has something for us to do." He says before getting his coat and his bag at the counter.

"Ehhh? Whitebeard? He's strong; he can do things by himself." Ace remarks as he never takes his eyes off the screen.

"Yeah, Sabo. Also, we're almost at the last level!" Luffy adds.

Sabo blocks the way with his hands on his hips which gains looks of disapproval from the two males.

Ace sighs, "Okay okay. Luffy let's save here."

Sabo gets out of the way and gets Ace's belongings, while Luffy pouts as he saves the game. Sabo hands Ace his stuff and they go to the door.

"Don't do anything reckless Luffy, we'll get back as soon as we can." Sabo smiles.

"Okay! Take care then!" Luffy grins and waves after them.

The door closes as his two siblings are out and he's left alone to his thoughts. The music has stopped playing and silence hangs above the air. Noticing this, he goes to the music player and chooses a random song, another composition by Yiruma.

He sighs, "What am I supposed to do now?"

He goes upstairs and looks inside the rooms full of boxes still not opened and arranged and searches for something interesting. A box labeled "Useless things" still piques his interest and he opens it. Unsurprisingly, it really was filled with useless things, but Luffy still digs through everything and saw one not-so-useless thing in there. He holds it in his hands with utmost care and with his curiosity rising through the roof. It was an old and worn-out book with strange symbols and a lock that forbids people from opening it. Luckily, the same key was also inside the box. It was a tiny and rusty key and can be easily thrown away. The lock clicks and the book opens, making him so happy. He puts the key in his pocket to keep it safe.

"At last! something interesting!" He says to no one and rushes downstairs.

He flops on the couch and examines the pages carefully, trying to comprehend the unknown language. After looking intently on one character, he thinks it looks familiar and rushes to Sabo's room. He looks at the unopened boxes with labels and finds one with the label "Books" on it. He examines each book and finds one that contained some information about ancient languages.

'This might be useful.' He thinks to himself.

He puts the two books down on the counter and with a pen and paper he tries to decipher it. It takes him several minutes to finish one sentence due to the complexity of the structure and grammar.

"Do rofearuloma, do chisulifadoloasulo rofesuli seruzesuwu." He says out loud.

He scratches his head, "That just sounded stupid!" His brows furrow.

Little did he know there was another presence in the room after saying that one phrase. You rise out from his shadow and fully form. (S/c) skin, (e/c) eyes, (h/l), (h/c) hair and long, curved,  (f/c) horns behind your pointed ears and your (f/c) tail flicks behind you.

                You speak, "You called?"

Luffy jumps and quickly gets into an offensive stance with his fists ready.

"Who are you?!" He asks with hostility.

"I am ___. Your summon." You reply.

He still doesn't let up from his offensive stance. You look at the two books and the paper.

"A friend, a companion from below." You say.

He cocks his head, "What are you saying?"

"You called for me. Did you not just say that summoning phrase?" You ask.

"Oh that? I didn't know it was a summoning phrase. Well then, I hereby relinquish you from our contract." Luffy proclaims.

                Nothing happens.

"You can go now." He smiles awkwardly.

"I can't. That's not the proper phrase." You explain.

"Then tell me the proper phrase."

"I don't know what the phrase is."

                "Eh?"

An awkward atmosphere hangs and Luffy gets more nervous.

"I'm not here to hurt you as that would be a breach of contract. Besides, I'm not all that powerful." You smile at him.

"Oh! You should've just said so. Then help me find the proper release phrase." He beams as he sits on the floor and lays the old book out on the floor.

"If you say so, master." You bow.

"Don't call me master, call me Luffy. Come on, sit next to me!" He beams at you and you smile back and you sit next to him. Your tail lays out freely on the ground and you look at the pages.

"Is the release phrase here?" He asks.

You shake your head. This continues for a few minutes until Luffy asks you to read a certain phrase.

"I'm sorry, but I cannot read." You simply say making Luffy gap at you.

"But you read the one I wrote on the paper!" He exclaims, confused.

"Those I can read, but these symbols I cannot. Low-class and middle-class demons aren't taught these, but the high-class demons are taught these since they were born and only they can use powerful summoning spells." You explain.

                "That's just unfair!" Luffy pouts.

"It is, but that is how we live, Master."

                "It's Luffy."

                "Master Luffy."

                "Just Luffy."

                "Luffy."

The door opens and Luffy's siblings enter.

"Ace! Sabo!" He calls, standing up.

"Oh hey Luffy. And his friend." Sabo greets.

                Your tail flicks.

"Hey! What are you doing standing there like a pole?" Ace bumps into Sabo and looks at what he's looking at.

You stand up and bow at them.

                "Welcome home fellow slaves."

"No ___. They're my brothers. The blond one is Sabo and the one with freckles is Ace. They're my family." Luffy introduces them with a smile to you.

"Oh, my mistake." You bow your head once more, "Welcome home Luffy's family."

Sabo shoots his hand out and grabs Luffy and shields him. He gets his staff and Ace readies his fists and coats them with fire.

"Luffy! Why is there a demon in our house?" He asks not taking his eyes off you.

                "But-!"

"Get ready to be knocked down demon!" Ace shouts lunging at you along with Sabo.

You don't move from your position and only look at him. Luffy runs and shields you from his brothers.

"Luffy! Get out of the way!" Sabo shouts.

'They're not stopping!' You think, panicking. 'They will surely hurt him!'

You push Luffy out of the way in time and the attacks connect to you and you get blown away. You hit a wall and fall to the floor.

                "___!"

                Luffy shields you again.

"She's my friend! Don't hurt her!" Luffy shouts at his brothers.

They stop and look at both of you.

Sabo sighs and picks up the old book on the floor. He examines the pages and stops at the one where Luffy read the phrase.

"It's this one isn't it?" Sabo asks, pointing to a series of symbols.

                Luffy nods.

Sabo sighs in relief, "At least you only summoned a low-class one, and it's also not aggressive so that's a plus."

"So what're we going to do then?" Ace asks.

                "Let him keep it."

"Her name is ___. She's going to stay with us until we find the correct release phrase." Luffy says as he helps you up.

"I don't mean to cause any harm, I am also bound to a contract with Ma-, I mean Luffy. I am not dangerous in any way." You explain.

Ace frowns, "I thought you got rid of that."

"I kind of did. Surely no one will look through a box labeled 'Useless things' right? Unless it's Luffy." He facepalms.

"I thought you meant getting rid of it was throwing it into the ocean, or burning it and spreading the ashes into the air."

"I tried that, it kept coming back." Sabo explains, sitting down on the couch and setting his staff aside.

Luffy lets you sit down on the couch next to him and smiles at you. He looks at your wounds and is shocked.

"They're healed already?" Luffy examines the area closer.

"Yes. Fast regeneration is my only useful trait." You say.

Ace looms behind you and you are not phased in any way.

"Hey, you said you were bound to a contract with Luffy, does that mean everywhere he goes, you go?" He asks.

"Not necessarily. It's his commands that I follow, so if he tells me to stay, then I will stay." You explain.

"If he tells you to kill yourself, will you do it?" Ace asks, testing you.

                "Yes."

Luffy hits Ace's face, "I won't tell her to do something like that."

Ace chuckles, "It's just a joke Luffy!"

Sabo snorts, "Yes Ace, it was obviously a joke."

Ace glares at Sabo and Sabo just laughs it off.

"I'm supposed to be the one protecting you Luffy." You say.

"Psh! You said you weren't strong, so I'll be the one to protect you." He smiles with determination.

                You smile.

'It's not supposed to be like that.'
